It is easy for the inner coat to tangle and knot. Limbs are very short and are well covered by the fur. This allows for proper blending of the body and limbs.

Pomeranians have a lively, friendly, and playful nature towards human beings. However, they show a lot of aggressiveness against other dogs. They remain alert and are stay aware of any changes in their environment. They bark at new stimuli, something that can develop into a habit of barking excessively. They are very defensive in their territories. Intelligence level is very high, which makes them very trainable.

On average, Pomeranians can leave up to between 12 and 16 years. Keeping them on good diet and exercising them regularly helps to keep them free of health problems. Certain medical problems are likely to develop if proper grooming is not done. During grooming, attention should be given to ears, eyes, and teeth to ensure that they are well cleaned. The breed is prone to tooth loss at early ages. Thus dry diet is recommendable.
