The classifications of forensic medicine would include anatomy, psychiatry, and pathology which are tasked to examine sudden deaths. Forensic ontology is a specialization that investigates teeth to determine the identity of victims.

The categories including geology, anthropology, and toxicology are under this branch. A specialist is tasked familiarize themselves with the methods of extracting particular elements used in collecting proofs that proves or disproves the charges of criminal and civil actions. Furthermore, a specialist is expected to preserve, collect, and analyze evidences, but there are some who works independently. Others are appointed to function as laboratory specialists that are expected to provided analysis on materials brought to their vicinity.
