Now the first thing to do is to start small with easy reading books that would have a lot of pictures. Of course before going to a little more heavy reading, one would have to begin his children with some very easy books that would have extremely basic words with really big fonts. As the child progresses, then the parent may find books that are harder.
Of course after he has learned how to read the alphabet and all the letters there, parents must first familiarize the child with the combination of these letters to form some words. Of course while reading each word, one has to read them very slowly while emphasizing each sound. While doing this, make the child also say the words too.
When the first page is done, have the kid repeat it again so that he will not forget about it. Now in order to make it easier for the child, let him keep repeating the first sentence before he would go on to the next. Make sure that he keeps on reading it until he perfects the sentence.
Aside from teaching them how to sound out the words, the parents also have they make sure that their kids know the meaning of the words they are sounding. Now when the parent has already read the very first page, then he would have to explain what the page is trying to say. Of course he has to explain slowly so that the kid may grasp the meaning.
Now after doing that, then the next thing to do would be to ask the child some questions to know that he has actually got the meaning. During the first time, kids will actually have a lot of questions like how to pronounce certain words and what they mean. So answer all of those questions and ask them to repeat that for a second time.

Reading out loud is also known to be able to help people in general remember what they are reading.
